About Pay

Pay Williams (formerly known as Pay Kolmüs) is a music industry educator, moderator, cultural strategist, and artist consultant with over 25 years of experience across performance, media, and creative industries. She has worked as a studio and performing artist, hosted her own radio show, released DJ mixtapes and developed a substantial international network in the music industry.

 

As a music journalist, Pay has interviewed artists, DJs, and producers such as Ice Cube, Little Dragon, Freddie Gibbs, Dwele, Nas, Ne-Yo, and Montell Jordan, as well as industry figures including Shanti Das (Silence The Shame), Wendy Day (Rapcoalition), Nicki Farag (Def Jam), Rob Stone (The Fader), and Tina Davis (EMPIRE), and prominent actors and designers like Kevin Hart, Charlie Murphy, Malik Yoba, and Karl Kani.

 

Her experience has led to roles as a host, moderator, and speaker at international festivals and conferences, including Amsterdam Dance Event. She has served on the Supervisory Board of The Melkweg and as a board member of the Auteursbond (authors union).

 

Pay combines her years of industry experience with an MBA in marketing, and as a consultant and manager, she has helped artists strategically brand their work, securing international deals. She has developed her own Music Business curriculum, delivering masterclasses at music institutes and academies worldwide. Additionally, she is a business mentor and coach for various music mentorship initiatives and a voluntary mentor for the entrepreneurship program from Women’s Bank in Kenya.

 

Based in the Netherlands and working internationally, Pay Williams empowers artists and creative professionals through knowledge, rights management, strategic guidance, and cultural insight, helping them build sustainable and agency-driven careers.
